Learning Lab: The Power of Story

Learning Labs
April 12, 2022

Learning Lab #33

We are hard-wired for story…

Human interactions centre on stories: shared experience through which we build empathy and make connections. Story bridges the gap between intellect and emotion. It engages others through narrative and personal experience.

The most successful leaders are often great storytellers. They give us a creative vision of what’s possible, connecting authentically with hearts and minds to motivate or inspire.

Storytelling is also at the heart of coaching relationships - the stories we tell ourselves, and those we relay back to each other in feedback.

This interactive, experiential session will give you practical techniques to build confidence in developing your authentic voice as a storyteller. We will explore how to carry your message more clearly and in a shape that helps it stick.

"We are all storytellers; we live in a network of stories. There isn’t a stronger connection between people than storytelling." (Jimmy Neil Smith)

- This session was designed by Marianne O'Connor
