What is coaching supervision? And why do we do it?
If you're training or already qualified as a coach with a reputable coaching organisation (e.g. MF!) you'll have come across the notion of coaching supervision. The bodies that accredit coaches (EMCC, ICF, AC...) typically require us to undertake supervision to demonstrate our professional practice. You may have heard about the three functions of supervision - normative, formative, and restorative. But what do these mean for you, and how do they contribute to your practice? What does effective supervision look and feel like?
In this Lab we will explore together valuable questions such as: What can coaching supervision do? How do you find a supervisor? How can you make coaching supervision really work for you?
Through some core theory, engaging exercises and insightful discussion, we will:
- Discuss the purpose of coaching supervision
- Explore its relevance in the changing world of coaching
- Observe part of a live coaching supervision session
- Determine what you personally need from supervision
- Leave with clarity on how coaching supervision will work for you
...and, we'll explain why, when it comes to coaching supervision, the hologram is a highly useful metaphor.
