Models, process, tools... All of these play an important role. They continue to provide scaffolding for coaching and other crucial conversations. And sometimes, perhaps often, perhaps always, effective conversations don't go to plan. This month's Learning Lab will consider the value and significance of 'Happy Accidents'.
“Mature coaches can respect the rules but not be bound by them when they tap into their internal wisdom.” - Karen Foy
As we become more experienced practitioners, how can we make sure that we tap into our own 'Internal Wisdom'? How can we build trust not only in process but also in ourselves? Which methods, people and habits do we find most useful, in the long-term of our careers, to record and reflect on our 'Accidents'?
We'll explore this together, in our friendly, interactive, and this month particularly poetic, online space.
What to expect:
- Opportunity to share and level-up your practice as a coach (or indeed any other people-centred professional serious about conversation!)
- Access to deeper thinking - your own, and others - in the areas of coaching, supervision, and reflection.
- Exposure to interesting resources, reading and people at different stages of their coaching and leadership careers.
- Insight and encouragement from a top coach-supervisor.
Do come along. There may well be some happy accidents during this lab, but no hard hats are required (unless of course you're joining from a building site).
Our Facilitator:
Sue Parr is an EMCC accredited coach and coach supervisor and has worked with individuals and groups in public and private sector organisations. She values supervision as a collaborative partnership, as a safe and restorative space for professional challenge and as an opportunity to share experiences and celebrate successes. She invites client to meet in “a sandpit in which to play, rather than a courtroom in which to judge” (Robin Shohet). Sue is a key member of our all-star supervision team, supporting learners on our ILM coaching qualifications.
