"In the moment, under pressure, in conflict, in an emotional conversation, or when nerves kick in, it can be difficult to perform as you intended. Repeated practice and feedback in a safe environment helps lock in new habits."
In this practical and personal Learning Lab, Simon Eastwood is going to lead us in an exploration of dealing with the pressures and challenges of presenting and communicating virtually. He'll draw upon techniques he's developed for his hugely popular in-person presentation and communication skills training. Using these, Simon has helped countless thousands of leaders to perform under pressure - and we're thrilled that this month he'll be sharing some of them in our Lab. They'll help us stay in control of emotions, help us sit with discomfort and support us to be compassionate towards ourselves (even when others aren't being so).
Topics we'll cover in this skills-based session include:
- The art of breathing to thrive, not just to stay alive!
- Key stages of the rehearsal process.
- How to carry on presenting, whatever the audience gives you back.
- The process required to get really clear with your message.
- Our active role when we are the audience.
We look forward to welcoming you into the Lab, and learning, and most importantly practicing together.
Our Facilitator:
Simon Eastwood is Head of Leadership Skills. He has been working globally in this field for over 25 years. He has been one of the key catalysts behind MF's shift towards an even greater focus on experiential skills development, and the importance of repeated practice and feedback. One of his super strengths is creating a fun learning environment, which creates the safety and engagement for people to want to challenge themselves. You will see this in action during this Learning Lab.
