Media Training

“I was amazed at how many customers saw me on the local TV news, and how favourably the item had reflected on us.” – COE, retail chain

How would you react to an invitation to appear on your local radio station or nightly regional TV news?

Would you see it as a great opportunity to get your message across? As a potential pitfall to be avoided at all cost? Or merely as a distraction from the job in hand?

Chances are, if you plumped for the first option, you’ve had media training.

For the uninitiated, a media appearance can be daunting. How will you look? How will you sound? How can you distil all the positive things you want to say about your company into two or three effective sound bites that the audience will remember?

We can teach you to love the media rather than fear it, and to take advantage of the rapidly expanding media opportunities that the exponential growth in local and national radio and digital television networks offers.

John Forrest, an experienced BBC television producer/director, will coach you in the art of the media interview. You will hear your voice as the listener hears it, and see yourself on the TV screen. You will be able to access and improve your performance in a friendly and positive atmosphere.

You might also choose to progress to a more challenging interview in which you learn to respond to controversy and gain experience in getting your message across.

We can help you gain the confidence to say ‘yes’ to media opportunities, and to effectively communicate your message to the large audiences they deliver.
