After 20 years in the advertising industry with clients such as Heinz, Cadbury's, BT and AXA, James joined Ernst & Young, initiating and developing their groundbreaking arts sponsorship programme as part of his wider role as External Communications Director.
He moved to law firm Nabarro Nathanson as Director of Marketing in 1997, establishing a department to drive the firm's industry sector strategy and working closely with partners to develop and focus their marketing activities. As a consultant he now specialises in advising organisations and individuals on business and personal development and communication issues and has been a Management Futures coach for some five years.
James has spoken on marketing and business issues in the USA, South Africa and Europe, as well as in the UK. He won an IPA Advertising Effectiveness award as leader of the team advertising the flotation of British Telecom and two ABSA awards for the work with Ernst & Young and the Tate Gallery.
