John Bray

  • Global business experience
  • Executive coach
  • Innovative thinker

John Bray was an early adherent and practitioner of executive coaching. He has worked with the chief executives and selected senior directors at British Airways, PowerGen, HSBC, Toronto Dominion Bank, general Motors, Shorts Bombardier, The British Broadcasting Corporation, NATS, the US Postal Service, AT & T, British Petroleum, Caltex, and the CAA, amongst others.

His coaching is characterised by treating the personal needs of the executive, such as self-knowledge and awareness, authenticity, and the positive use of power. This work is highly personal and intensive.

Beyond personal needs, this work involves a two-pronged approach: the development of a clear view of overall strategy and the executive's role in it, and the simultaneous building of the will, skill and courage to do the difficult things that the strategy requires - particularly those things which, in the beginning, are quite counter cultural and frequently unmentionable.
