The NHS NW Leadership Academy asked us to deliver pilot programmes for Clinical Commissioning Groups in the region. Working with the Academy team we liaised with Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale CCG and with West Cheshire CCG to design the programme.

CCGs are clinically-led statutory NHS bodies responsible for the planning and commissioning of health care services for their local area.  Operating since April 2013 leadership teams of the CCGs face challenges on many levels as they seek to deliver continuous improvement for patients.

The two day pilot programmes delivered to a mix of clinicians and managers from the CCGs were a great success. Each one was tailored to the specific needs of the CCG and with practical application of the skills at the forefront we explored how the approach would be best employed at work.

It’s been thought provoking; a new set of skills learned, exposure to a different mindset, opportunities to work with colleagues in a different way.

Dr Chris Duffy (GP), Clinical Chair

I would recommend this workshop because it has equipped me with skills that I will use. An excellent course.

Dr Bob Wood (GP), CCG Locality Member

I would recommend this workshop because it is very enjoyable and can bring about demonstrable change for the organisation.
