Shirley has 20+ years experience of developing others both in her early career, predominantly in the NHS, and in her current role. Her passion is Leadership Development both on a one-to-one and team basis.

Shirley’s wealth of experience ensures that her leadership and coaching work has significant impact for individuals, teams and organisations. She works with her clients to ensure they are clear about what they want to achieve and that they have both the motivation, courage and leadership capabilities to make it happen. Her style is supportive, challenging, enabling and pragmatic. She focuses on aligning performance to business strategy and operating plans; creating “vision with legs”.

Recent Experience

  • Ferrania, Global IT Company, programme for the UK business to develop strategies for survival during and after acquisition.
  • National Leadership Programme for Radiographers in Management, NHS, programme for senior managers designed to equip them with the skills to manage the challenges associated with a major reform in healthcare.
  • ECH, Global Consultancy, implemented a series of Development Centres as part of an ongoing talent management initiative for high performers.
  • SEAP, Charity, facilitated setting the Board’s strategic direction following swift expansion and developing the leadership skills throughout the senior management team to deliver their objectives.

Shirley has recently designed and implemented a programme for CIDA (Cultural Industries Development Agency). This involved working with multi-cultural action learning sets to develop the confidence and skills of Carnival, Festival and Mela practitioners.

Shirley started her working life as a radiographer, progressing to become the General Manager responsible for a Neurosciences Hospital. She led staff, from Neurosurgeons to the catering team through complex and continuous change. These earlier experiences have equipped her with the ability to understand and adapt to her client’s world.
