Sandra Grealy
Sandra is a highly experienced leadership development consultant and talented executive coach, working with a broad range of public and private sector clients. She has worked in leadership development for over 15 years and enjoys the challenge of working with managers and leaders to unlock potential and creativity, catalyse ideas into action, and provide them with a safe and rich reflective space.
Sandra is skilful at working with organisations to get to the heart of complex issues which impact upon performance and service delivery. She works creatively with groups to help raise awareness of leadership styles and explore strategies for enhancing personal and group effectiveness to achieve robust and sustainable change. Sandra has a particular interest in the challenges of leadership and achieving positive change in complex emergency service environments.
Recent leadership development work includes:
- A successful restaurant chain wanting to enhance the managerial and leadership skills of their area chefs to lead and performance manage teams of chefs to deliver consistent high quality when working under extreme pressure
- A sector skills organisation for the entertainment industry wanting to develop all middle managers to lead change and implement effective HR systems in a rapidly expanding organisation
- A central government department where senior finance managers want to learn more about enhancing and developing their emotional intelligence to complement their leadership roles
- The executive team of a major hospital trust, working to achieve Foundation status and needing to lead staff, members and other stakeholders towards higher performance and greater accountability
Earlier in her career, Sandra completed a short service commission with the Royal Engineers and served in the UK, Germany, Australia and Norway. She enjoys working with people of varied nationalities and cultures and has designed and delivered coach and mentoring training specifically for BME audiences.
Sandra also led the management development function for the London Ambulance Service during a challenging period of change and modernisation. She has specialist expertise in the design and delivery of assessment and development centres and is a non-service member assessor for the National Police Improvement Agency, selecting candidatesfor senior command training. Sandra is a member of the coach training Faculty at Management Futures and supervises experienced coaches in their practice as well as Diploma students.
Her qualifications include a first degree in geography, an MBA and a post graduate Diploma in Coaching. She is qualified to use a range of psychometric instruments and questionnaires, including Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Emotional Competence Inventory, FIRO-B, Strength Deployment Inventory and Occupational Personality Questionnaire. She is a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
