Monika Barnes

Monika specialises in the coaching of senior executives, board members and top executive teams to help them perform to their full potential and rise to their business challenges. She is an associate of Management Futures and has run her own business for 16 years.

Her particular areas of interest as coach are working with senior men and women aspiring to or recently appointed to an executive position on the top team or senior operating board.  She particularly enjoys coaching which has impact at an individual level and also on business performance. Her clients are mainly in the global media, entertainment and creative industries as well as some notable commercial, service oriented organisations. Feedback from coaching clients highlights that clients value her extremely perceptive, stimulating and tenacious approach, an informal and fun style, combined with a pragmatic understanding of the realities of business.

  • Director of the world’s leading building, design and engineering consultancy newly appointed, wanted to work on raising profile and visibility, influencing senior managers and establishing herself as a key player
  • Managing Director, of the worlds’ largest post production and facilities company came to coaching to get the right people in his top team and develop them into a high performing unit   
  • Executive Director, leading broadcast and online media company, wanted coaching to support her transition from specialist to generalist with executive responsibilities for the overall business

Monika’s qualifications include an MSc in Organisational Behaviour and a Diploma in Management Studies.  She has completed the Ashridge Management College Coaching for Organization Consultant’s Programme and holds a Diploma in Executive Coaching, accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management. She is qualified to use MBTI, SDI (strength deployment inventory) and Firo B questionnaires.    

Monika’s interest and acknowledged natural talent for working with top teams in conflict, led her to pursue a qualification in alternative dispute resolution. Now an accredited mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, Monika is gaining much experience as lead or assistant mediator in a variety of commercial and employment disputes.
