A senior executive coach with many years experience, Tony believes in the bigger picture and feels that knowledge gained in life impacts positively in many areas and not just at work.

He also believes that good coaching is the most effective aid to improving organizational and personal performance, as well as a means of understanding yourself and others.

He helps his clients to identify and focus on what is really important.

Tony has wide business experience and works with disciplines ranging from sports, philosophy and martial arts. He has developed a programme The Art of Not Doing which helps clients to get more of what they want with less effort.

He also has an enormous range of cross cultural skills which Tony likes to tease out and use as effectively as possible.

Some recent clients:

  • A senior Country Director who found that being female was the biggest initial problem in a male dominated situation, her not to ignore cultural differences whilst at the same time making her presence felt.
  • A British Council Director was helped in his motivational skills and transformed a dysfunctional team by discovering new ways of working.
  • A Chief Executive used his coaching sessions with Tony to influence a difficult board in the public sector
  • The impact of personal issues and stress on professional life were at the heart of the coaching of another Country Director who was able to differentiate between the personal and the professional whilst not separating them completely.
  • Country Director finds himself without any family or friends in a new posting in a totally foreign environment and finds that his situation affects his professional performance in the workplace.

Tony has a thoroughly international reputation.  He has wide ranging experience coaching British Council over many years. He has run coaching skills courses and demonstrated The Art of Not Doing.

Tony has lived and worked in Southern Africa, Canada, Eastern Europe,  China, Indonesia and the United Kingdom. He has traveled to many other parts of the world on business.

Teaching and talking about the importance of coaching are Tony's passions. He has written widely, featured in radio broadcasts and is a  tutor on the Management Futures' coaching course. He has represented the South African and Canadian governments in international trade negotiations and was honored to receive the award of Freeman of the City of London.
