Internal coaching and mentoring services

As coaching becomes a ‘must have’ for managers, organisations want to offer the services of a coach to their high performers.

1.Sometimes organisations want to give their managers some sense what coaching skills are and how they can be an invaluable addition to their toolkit.

2. Some want to take it further and introduce a group of internal coaches to the accreditation process, perhaps at  Level 5 rather than Level 7 in the first instance.

3. Others want a full-blown three-year service to train coaches or mentors so that there is a full in house coaching or mentoring service.  (By the way mentoring uses coaching techniques but tends to be by someone more experienced in the same organisation – coaches are more often ‘independents’ from outside.)

After approaches from our client organisations we now offer a range of support services to establish and run an internal coaching service. This can include:

  • Selection of individuals for coach training
  • In house training
  • Supervision when trained
  • Administration and ‘matching service’
  • Independent review and evaluation of benefits

Examples of 1. with whom we have worked are Woolworths, Brathay College London Borough of Harrow
Examples of 2. include Ministry of Defence, Channel 4, Highlands and Islands Enterprise
Examples of 3. are NHS South East London and Home Office BIA

At its simplest we offer two or three day modules taking the highlights of our open programme with a full pack of learning materials.  These are delivered to up to 16 of your managers in house at a time of your choosing.

At a more complex level our accredited programmes can be tailored for companies wishing to introduce a ‘coaching culture’ and equip their managers with new ways of managing performance. The ILM level 5 course of 2+3 days tuition with 12 hours of coaching practice over a year is ideal for busy managers. HR professionals and senior leaders may prefer the ILM level 7 diploma with the additional support of supervision and peer coaching.
